Job summary

Beacon Hospital in Dublin is seeking an experienced EHR PMO Manager to lead the Programme Management Office supporting the EHR Modernisation Programme.

You will work with executives, clinicians, IT and MEDITECH to ensure governance, delivery, risk management, and timely delivery of programme milestones.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience leading or operating within a Programme Management Office in a complex organisation.
  • Experience supporting large‑scale technology or digital transformation programmes.
  • Proven ability to manage third‑party suppliers and delivery partners.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working with senior executives.
  • Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing programme risks, governance frameworks and delivery assurance.
  • Advanced proficiency with programme and project management tools and reporting systems.
  • PRINCE2, MSP Practitioner, PMP or equivalent qualification.
  • P3O or recognised PMO qualification.
  • Experience of Electronic Health Record (EHR/EPR) implementations.
  • Experience with MEDITECH Magic and/or MEDITECH Expanse.
  • Healthcare sector experience, ideally within acute healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of healthcare information governance, digital health strategy and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the EHR Programme Management Office and governance structures.
  • Develop and maintain programme governance frameworks, standards and controls.
  • Create and manage programme documentation, RAID logs and governance processes.
  • Lead adoption of programme management best practices across all workstreams.
  • Support programme planning with milestones and KPIs across multiple workstreams.
  • Coordinate dependencies, escalate risks and manage budgets and supplier performance.
  • Produce executive reports and dashboards for Programme Boards and senior stakeholders.
  • Coach and guide workstream leaders on governance and PM methodologies.

The Role

Reporting to the EHR Programme Director, the EHR PMO Manager will establish, lead the Programme Management Office, ensuring robust governance, effective programme control, and successful delivery of programme objectives.

The role requires a highly organised and analytical leader who can operate strategically while remaining hands‑on when necessary to overcome challenges and maintain momentum.

You will be a key member of the programme leadership team and a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the EHR Programme Management Office.
  • Develop and maintain programme governance frameworks, standards, reporting structures and controls.
  • Create and manage programme documentation, RAID logs, action trackers and governance processes.
  • Drive adoption of programme management best practices across all workstreams.

Programme Planning & Delivery Support

  • Support programme and workstream leads in developing and maintaining project plans, milestones and KPIs.
  • Ensure effective management of programme dependencies and critical path activities.
  • Facilitate co‑ordination across clinical, operational, financial and digital workstreams.
  • Produce executive-level reports and dashboards for Programme Boards and senior stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress against programme milestones and deliverables.
  • Manage programme risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Lead formal stage‑gate reviews and readiness assessments for key programme phases.
  • Act as a central co‑ordination point between Beacon Hospital, implementation partners and MEDITECH.
  • Track supplier performance against contractual commitments and Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Support governance and sign‑off processes for supplier deliverables.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships across clinical, operational and technical teams.
  • Support programme resource planning and capacity management.
  • Track programme expenditure, supplier costs and contractor utilisation.
  • Monitor budgets and escalation financial risks where required.
  • Lead and develop PMO staff and programme support resources.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to workstream leaders on project governance and programme management methodologies.

About You

You are an experienced PMO or Programme Management professional who thrives in complex, fast‑paced environments and is passionate about delivering meaningful organisational change.
