Job summary

A leading electrical services provider in Carlow is seeking a qualified electrician to assemble and wire control panels to a high standard. You will work from technical drawings and ensure all builds meet quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will be fully qualified or currently an apprentice with experience in panel wiring. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a panel shop or similar environment.
  • Experience with control panel wiring and assembly.
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels.
  • Work from schematic diagrams and panel layouts.
  • Carry out panel testing, fault finding, and modifications.

Education

Fully qualified electrician (Irish or equivalent)
Currently a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice

Job description

This role will be responsible for building panels to a high standard, following technical drawings and ensuring accuracy across all wiring and components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly and wiring of electrical control panels
  • Work from schematic diagrams, wiring drawings, and panel layouts
  • Install and wire components such as:
  • Relays
  • Contactors
  • Terminal blocks
  • PLC components (where applicable)
  • Carry out panel testing, fault finding, and modifications
  • Ensure all builds meet quality and safety standards
  • Maintain neat and organised wiring to a high standard
  • Work closely with supervisors and engineering teams
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
Requirements
  • Fully qualified electrician (Irish or recognised equivalent)
  • Experience working in a panel shop or similar environment
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Experience with control panel wiring and assembly
  • Currently a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentice
  • Panel wiring, panel shop, or switchgear experience is highly desirable
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skillsStrong work ethic and reliability
