Job summary

Murphy International Limited is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our on-site team in Ireland. The role involves installing, routing, and securing electrical cabling, performing testing and commissioning, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards across industrial facilities.

Ideal candidates have 1-3 years post-apprenticeship experience within industrial, utilities, or similar sectors and are familiar with electrical installation and fault-finding.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
  • 1-3 years' post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Experience in industrial, utilities, manufacturing or related sectors desirable.
  • Familiarity with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Install, route and secure electrical power, control and instrumentation cabling.
  • Fabricate, install and maintain cable containment systems (tray, ladder, trunking, conduit).
  • Perform glanding, termination and connection of cables.
  • Conduct electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding.
  • Participate in commissioning and start-up of electrical systems.
  • Commission and troubleshoot instrumentation and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across facilities.
  • Work safely within hazardous environments including ATEX zones.

Key responsibilities
  • Install, route and secure electrical power, control and instrumentation cabling in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Fabricate, install and maintain cable containment systems, including tray, ladder, trunking and conduit systems.
  • Perform glanding, termination and connection of power, control and instrumentation cables.
  • Conduct electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding activities to ensure system integrity and compliance.
  • Participate in the commissioning and start-up of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Commission and troubleshoot instrumentation, PLC-controlled systems and associated equipment.
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across industrial facilities and company-operated sites.
  • Work safely within hazardous and controlled environments, including ATEX zoned areas.
  • Undertake electrical works across a variety of sectors, including Gas, Water, Wastewater, Renewable Energy and Industrial projects.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant safety regulations, quality standards and company procedures.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Qualified Electrician with a recognised electrical trade qualification.
  • 1-3 years' post-apprenticeship experience (or recently qualified electricians with relevant industrial experience will also be considered).
  • Experience working within industrial, utilities, manufacturing, water/wastewater, gas, energy or renewable sectors is desirable.
  • Familiarity with electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities.
