Job summary

King & Moffatt Building Services is seeking an Electrical Training Instructor to mentor and develop apprentices across large-scale M&E projects. You will deliver practical electrical training, coach on-site, and guide learners through logbooks and milestones.

The role supports onboarding, liaises with colleges and accreditation bodies, and maintains training records with a focus on safety and quality. A recognised trade or engineering qualification and 8+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Recognised Electrical Trade or Engineering qualification.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience within the electrical building services industry.
• Strong knowledge of wiring regulations, site safety, and industry best practice.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting apprentices/junior tradespeople.

Responsibilities

• Support apprentice recruitment and intake targets with Training and Recruitment teams.
• Deliver hands‑on practical training across electrical building services systems.
• Coach and mentor apprentices on active project sites.
• Support apprentices through logbooks, assessments, and technical milestones.
• Carry out skills assessments and development reviews.
• Maintain accurate training, competency, and compliance records.
• Develop and update training materials in line with industry regulations.
• Identify site‑specific skills gaps and deliver targeted support.
• Support apprenticeship onboarding and inductions.
• Work with colleges, training providers, and accreditation bodies.
• Deliver toolbox talks, refresher training, and safety briefings.
• Support apprenticeship career events and awards initiatives.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous development.

We’re looking for an Electrical Training Instructor to join King & Moffatt Building Services and help shape the future of our electrical workforce.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrician or electrical professional who enjoys mentoring, coaching, and supporting apprentices throughout their development journey across large-scale building services projects.

What you’ll be doing

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

• Recognised Electrical Trade or Engineering qualification
• Minimum 8 years’ experience within the electrical building services industry
• Strong knowledge of wiring regulations, site safety, and industry best practice
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting apprentices/junior tradespeople
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Organised and able to manage multiple priorities across projects
• Comfortable using digital systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Passion for developing people and supporting career progression
• Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and quality workmanship
• Certificate in Training & Assessment
• Experience supporting apprenticeship audits or inspections
• Previous experience within large‑scale construction or M&E projects
• Experience working across multiple sites/projects
