Job summary

CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking an Electrical Technician to inspect, repair, replace, and install electrical equipment for an assigned location. The role sits within Engineering and Technical Services, focusing on preventive maintenance and repairs.

You will follow instructions for repairs, advise on shutdowns to minimise damage, and perform equipment wiring and mechanical repairs, all while maintaining safety standards and using established procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
• Meet the physical requirements including lifting 50 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Review and follow instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work.
• Advise when immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage or when continued operation has no harm.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace electrical equipment with safety precautions.
• Make mechanical repairs as required in servicing electrical equipment.
• Install, splice, or replace sections of wire incidental to repair or temporary installation.
• Make emergency mechanical repairs without other maintenance personnel.
• Follow existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having limited discretion.
• Deliver output by following defined procedures under close supervision and guidance.

About the Role:

As a CBRE Electrical Technician, you will inspect, repair, replace, install, wire, adjust, and maintain all equipment for an assigned location.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Review and follow instructions covering the scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection of work to be done.
• Advise when the immediate shutdown of equipment is necessary to minimize damage, or when temporarily continued operations will have no harmful effect.
• Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, etc. electrical equipment taking all safety precautions.
• Make mechanical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electrical equipment.
• Install, splice, or replace sections of wire incidental to repair or temporary installation.
• Make emergency mechanical repairs without other maintenance personnel.
• Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
• Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
