Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment & HR Services Group in Clonakilty, West Cork, is seeking an experienced, qualified Electrician to join a growing electrical and solar energy business. The role offers genuine long-term progression toward leadership and potential equity opportunities.

You will lead electrical installations, oversee projects, mentor apprentices, and work with the business owner to drive growth. A driving licence is required and a competitive salary is offered based on experience.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified electrician with a recognised electrical qualification.
• Strong practical experience in electrical installation and maintenance.
• Solar PV experience advantageous but not essential.
• Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience would be beneficial.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance and associated works across a range of projects.
• Support the delivery of electrical and solar PV installation projects.
• Oversee and coordinate electrical works, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Provide technical guidance and support to electricians, apprentices and other team members.
• Assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating projects and resources.
• Liaise with customers, contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Ensure all electrical works comply with relevant regulations, quality standards and health and safety requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and business performance.
• Work closely with the business owner, gradually taking on additional operational and management responsibilities.
