Job summary

Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a growing ICP within the EV infrastructure industry to recruit an Electrical Field Service Engineer covering Dublin and the surrounding areas.

The role offers a salary up to €55,000 basic, plus bonus and other benefits. You will install EV charging stations, follow designs and installation guides, and liaise with the Supervisor to provide project updates. A full, clean driving licence is required, and safety protocols must be followed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical installations, ideally EV charging systems or renewable energy sectors.
• Full, clean driving licence (B category) is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to diagnose and repair electrical and software-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Install electric vehicle charging stations following work instructions and designs.
• Liaise with the Supervisor and provide updates on EV charger installations.
• Follow safety protocols and site-specific programmes for installations.
• Complete Electrical Installation Certificates on a tablet.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare and submit reports on work performed and resolutions.
• Collaborate with project managers, electricians and team members for project execution.
• Attend training sessions and team meetings.
• Support maintenance contracts with routine preventive maintenance.

Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a growing ICP within the EV infrastructure industry to recruit an Electrical Field Service Engineer covering Dublin and the surrounding areas.

The Electrical Field Service Engineer role comes with a salary of up to €55,000 basic, plus bonus and other benefits.

Reporting To The Operations Manager You Will

• Install electric vehicle charging stations.
• Follow work instructions, electrical designs, cable calculations and installation guides to carry out the proper installation of EV chargers from various charger manufacturers.
• Liaise with the Supervisor and provide updates relevant to the EV charge point installations on their projects.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure safe working conditions.
• Work to site specific Programmes of Work.
• Complete Electrical Installation Certificates on a tablet device.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Prepare and submit reports on work performed, including any issues encountered and resolutions implemented.
• Work closely with project managers, electricians, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution.
• Participate in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed and share best practice.
• Assist and support maintenance contracts by performing routine and preventive maintenance on EV charging stations to ensure optimal performance and uptime

Professional Qualifications

• A FETAC / Level 6 qualification in electrical installation, or a recognised equivalent, or other recognised qualifications such as those from City & Guilds, or an equivalent European standard.
• Electricians must have practical experience in electrical work and be familiar with Irish regulations, particularly the National Rules for Electrical Installations (I.S. 10101).
• Irish SafePass or equivalent

Personal skills

• Proven experience in electrical installations, ideally within EV charging systems or renewable energy sectors
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical and software-based systems
• Full, clean driving license (B Category)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• A proactive, self-motivated approach to work
