Job summary

Osborne - Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established organisation based in Waterford. The role involves preparing accurate tenders, interpreting technical specifications and liaising with clients and suppliers to support projects from tender to contract award.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as Electrical Estimator or Electrical Engineer with estimating responsibilities.
• Experience in pharmaceutical, industrial, power generation, oil & gas sectors desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical contracting and estimating processes.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and tender documents.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Willingness to travel across Ireland and the UK.

Responsibilities

• Review tender documentation, specifications and project information to prepare detailed and accurate electrical quotations.
• Prepare and submit electrical tenders within agreed deadlines.
• Ensure all tender documentation is technically accurate and complete.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and tender briefings as required.
• Liaise with clients to understand and interpret electrical specifications and project requirements.
• Work closely with internal teams to review tenders and ensure effective handover following contract award.
• Finalise tender submissions and participate in pre-order meetings.
• Support the successful securing of contracts and provide a comprehensive handover to Project Managers.
• Identify any additional requirements or potential cost variations and ensure these are accurately priced.
• Maintain electrical specification confirmations across projects.
• Identify and cost any upcharges and manage concession requests where required.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and the wider supply chain.
• Work effectively to tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Provide commercial and technical input throughout the tendering process.

Osborne are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join a well-established organisation based in Waterford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Estimator or Electrical Engineer with strong estimating experience to take on a key role within a busy project environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive electrical tenders, interpreting technical specifications, liaising with clients and suppliers, and supporting the successful delivery of projects from tender through to contract award.

Travel throughout Ireland and the UK will be an essential part of this role.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience working as an Electrical Estimator or Electrical Engineer with significant estimating responsibilities.
• Experience within pharmaceutical, industrial, power generation, oil & gas or similar sectors is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of electrical contracting and estimating processes.
• Previous experience working with a well-established general contractor or within a similar project environment.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good general IT skills and confidence working with estimating and tender documentation.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documents.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver accurate work within tight timeframes.
• Full flexibility to travel throughout Ireland and the UK as required.
