Job summary

QCS Staffing Ltd seeks an Electrical Engineer for a Cork, Ireland-based life sciences project on an initial 12-month contract. You will review electrical design deliverables, coordinate interfaces with process, HVAC, utilities, instrumentation and automation, and support field changes with 3D model reviews.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with extensive capital project experience, and has working knowledge of IEC standards and vendor submittal reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive electrical engineering experience on major capital or industrial projects.
• Familiarity with IEC 60364 and IEC 61439 standards.

Electrical Engineer – Cork, Ireland – Initial 12-Month Contract – Life Sciences

Looking for your next project? We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join a high-impact pharmaceutical project located near Cork. With major capital investment experience driving various facility build projects. This is a unique assignment for an Electrical Engineer to support a global leader in the life sciences market and play a key role in shaping the future of advanced manufacturing.

What you’ll deliver:

The Electrical Engineer is accountable to the Engineering Lead for the quality and coordination of the electrical design scope assigned to them. Review and comment on electrical design deliverables - design basis, single-line diagrams, load lists, layouts, schedules and specifications against project requirements, applicable codes and client engineering standards; track comments to closure. Coordinate electrical interfaces with process, HVAC, utilities, instrumentation and automation, fire protection and CSA loads, electrical rooms, cable routes and equipment supplies, including 3D model reviews and clash resolution. Respond to construction-phase technical queries, review field changes and support resolution of electrical non-conformances.

Experience required:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive electrical engineering on major capital or industrial construction projects, with design-office and site exposure.
• Working knowledge of IEC electrical standards (e.g., IEC 60364, IEC 61439) and of electrical calculations and power-system studies.
• Experience reviewing third-party design and vendor submittals and driving comments to closure.
• Clear written and verbal communication across engineering, construction and vendor teams.
