Job summary

NeoDyne in Galway is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Transmission & Distribution team for office-based design work on Eirgrid/ESB HV/MV substations. Prior experience in these areas is desirable but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Level 8 degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in a similar substation design role.
• Experience developing Electrical Schematics using EPLAN.
• Experience developing equipment layouts using AutoCAD/Primtech or similar.
• Familiarity with ESB/Eirgrid design and/or commissioning requirements.
• Experience carrying out Factory Acceptance Tests on Control & Protection Panels.
• Full Irish driving license or to be achieved within 12 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Primary Plant Electrical Layouts, Control & Protection Design, LV Distribution and General Services Design.
• Review ESB/Eirgrid or Employer Requirements for a project and ensure design compliance.
• Produce specifications for electrical equipment and assemblies (transformers, circuit breakers, etc).
• Report to Lead or Senior Engineering Manager on projects.
• Carry out Factory Acceptance Testing on Control & Protection panels and attend progress meetings.

Position Summary

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team. This role will involve office based Electrical Design work of Eirgrid, ESB and Customer HV/MV substations. Priorexperience inthese areas is highlydesirablebutnotessential as NeoDyne will provide full training.

Key Responsibilities

Substation Design:

• Primary Plant Electrical Layouts, Control & Protection Design, LV Distribution and General Services Design
• Reviewing ESB/Eirgrid or Employer Requirements for a project and ensuring design compliance.
• Producing specifications for various electrical equipment and assemblies (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers etc.)
• Reporting to the Lead or Senior Engineering Manager on projects
• Carrying out Factory Acceptance Testing on Control & Protection panels. Attending on project progress meetings and site surveys.

Experience & Skills

Required
