Job summary

Silent Aire, part of Johnson Controls, is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer in Dublin to drive the electrical design of large-scale liquid cooling solutions and mission-critical HVAC equipment.

You will own concept through detailed engineering, develop power distribution and control architectures, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, compliant designs for high-performance facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BEng, BSc Eng) or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical; ePLAN experience is beneficial.
• 5+ years' experience in electrical design engineering, preferably in HVAC, data centre, industrial, or related industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor controls, panel design and control system integration.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical codes, standards and industry best practices.
• Experience performing electrical calculations and developing engineering design documentation.
• Strong understanding of protection, control systems and power system design principles.

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer specifications and project drawings to ensure compliance with electrical codes and standards.
• Develop detailed electrical designs, power distribution schematics, and single-line diagrams using CAD/eCAD tools.
• Produce controls schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts for air handling and cooling equipment.
• Perform electrical engineering calculations including load analysis and fault current assessments.
• Design and specify electrical power and control systems ensuring safe, reliable operation.
• Prepare bills of materials and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, manufacturing and project teams for integration.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Support manufacturing, commissioning, field service, procurement and customer teams with expertise.
