Job summary

Inform3 Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a Co. Sligo manufacturing client. The role spans 3D modelling and electrical schematics using Solidworks, CAD, and WSCAD, delivering end-to-end electrical control system design and documentation.

You will translate complex requirements into functional electrical layouts, with production-ready drawings that meet standards and client specs. The position emphasizes collaboration across departments and adherence to Irish/International

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related technical field.
3+ years’ proven experience in an electrical automation or heavy engineering environment.
Advanced proficiency in Solidworks, WSCAD, AutoCAD or EPLAN.
In-depth understanding of electrical control panel design, LV switchgear and automation components (PLCs, VFDs, sensors).
Expert knowledge of electrical symbols, circuit protection and wiring regulations.

Responsibilities

Develop electrical wiring diagrams, control panel layouts and P&IDs using WSCAD, AutoCAD and related tools.
Use Solidworks to design 3D enclosures, cable routing and component placements.
Create clean, compliant drawings ready for production and installation.
Design control systems for electrical automation, including PLC I/O configurations and safety systems.
Generate material bills, cable schedules and terminal diagrams for production teams.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure integration with mechanical hardware and automation code.
