Alternative Heat Ltd in Dundalk is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the expansion of data center projects. The role focuses on electrical design drawings, plant selections, cabling routes and C&S through concept to completion.
You will work closely with the design team, contracts managers and commissioning colleagues, developing BMS control panel drawings and operation descriptions, and ensuring compliance with health and safety and quality standards.

The Design department is responsible for developing innovative, practical, and fully coordinated mechanical and electrical building services solutions tailored to each project. Working closely with clients, project teams, and the BIM department, the design team transforms concepts into detailed, build-ready technical designs that meet regulatory standards, client specifications, and sustainability goals. Their work underpins the technical accuracy and efficiency of our installations, ensuring seamless integration from planning through to construction.
Due to continued growth we are looking to add to a further Electrical Design Engineer to support the continued growth of our Data Center projects. This position offers an amazing opportunity for a candidate who wants to gain experience with a progressive and dynamic company.
The role involves preparing electrical design drawings, plant selections, cabling routes and installation specifications throughout all stages of a project, from concept through to tender, construction and completion. It also includes developing project-specific BMS control panel drawings and descriptions of operation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards, and attending design meetings as required. The position requires close collaboration with contracts managers and commissioning teams to support the commissioning process and optimise BMS controls, alongside maintaining professional relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and relevant authorities. Additional duties may be required as directed.
