Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee commercial activities for major projects across Europe, with an Electrical background advantageous. The role reports to the Group Commercial Manager and Division Director and includes managing a team of commercial leads and QSs, with some travel to overseas sites and predominantly based in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• Minimum 8+ years post-qualification experience.
• Electrical sector / M&E contracting experience essential.
• Strong IT skills and excellent verbal, written & presentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Willingness to travel intermittently to Europe.

Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial management and financial performance of major projects (Data Centre, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor).
• Ensure contract obligations are met and monitor compliance across construction teams.
• Drive profitability by coordinating with Directors to improve commercial performance.
• Identify commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting to management.
• Provide accurate commercial reports to the Director and Board.
• Lead and develop all members of the Commercial team.
• Provide commercial input for major tenders and participate in negotiations.
• Oversee monthly progress applications, variations and claims.
• Coordinate procurement activities with the Procurement Department.
• Oversee subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Analyze trends in Business & Projects and monitor revenue and margin.
• Assist in implementing new strategies and tools in the Commercial Department.
• Other duties as required.
