We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Maintenance Technician to support the safe and reliable operation of electrical, instrumentation and control systems within a power generation or heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative and condition-based maintenance on electrical and C&I systems.
- Perform HV/MV/LV switching in accordance with Permit to Work, LOTO and site safety procedures.
- Inspect and maintain switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, MCCs, VSDs, motors and generators.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults using schematics and electrical testing equipment.
- Install, calibrate and maintain instrumentation, sensors, transmitters, analysers and control valves.
- Troubleshoot PLC/DCS, control systems and instrumentation faults.
- Carry out thermographic inspections and condition monitoring.
- Support equipment isolation, de-energisation, testing and restoration.
- Maintain accurate calibration, maintenance and test records using CMMS systems.
- Prepare and review RAMS and ensure compliance with site safety procedures.
- Respond to alarms and assist with restoring equipment to full operational status.
- Identify equipment issues and recommend improvements to plant reliability and performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- NFQ Level 6 Electrical, Instrumentation or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in electrical and C&I maintenance, ideally within power generation or heavy industry.
- Strong experience with HV/MV/LV systems, transformers, generators, switchgear, motors and associated equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings and PLC/DCS documentation.
- Experience with calibration of field instrumentation and electrical testing equipment.
- Strong understanding of HV safety, arc flash, Permit to Work and LOTO procedures.
- Experience using CMMS and other maintenance management systems.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Authorisation to work in Ireland is essential.
