Job summary

CPi Biotech in Cork is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to support design, coordination and execution of E&I activities on single-use bioprocessing skids within a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

A degree in engineering and 8+ years in E&I design/construction are required, along with proficiency in MS Office and E&I documentation, standards (IEC/EN/ATEX). You will manage multiple projects, budgets and schedules with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control processes in collaboration with project stakeholders.

About the Role

We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team in Cork. The E&I Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design, coordination, and execution of E&I engineering activities on Single-Use Bioprocessing skids within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing new control processes in collaboration with project stakeholders.
• Specifying and procuring E&I instrumentation.
• Developing instrumentation testing protocols.
• Reviewing project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Managing and controlling E&I projects, including generating cost estimates and financial reporting.
• Managing a diverse workload across multiple projects of varying complexity.
• Programming work schedules and monitoring building progress, regulatory compliance, and costs.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in E&I design and construction environments.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in a Windows-based environment and standard software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Project, advanced Excel, and Access).
• In-depth knowledge of E&I systems, including:
• Single-Use instrumentation for process monitoring and control (pressure, temperature, flow, pH, etc.).
• Ability to produce, review, and approve detailed engineering documentation (E&I specifications, SLDs, loop drawings, P&IDs, I/O lists, cable schedules, etc.).
• Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (IEC, EN, IS, ATEX, I.S. 10101).
• Experience supporting project lifecycle phases, including design, FAT/SAT, installation, commissioning, and validation.
• Ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing site.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
