CREGG Group in Galway is seeking an EHS Officer to develop and implement environmental, health and safety programmes across the site, driving continuous improvement and a culture of sustainability.

You will monitor energy and waste performance, lead audits, deliver safety training, and liaise with regulators and insurers to ensure Irish and EU compliance. 2–4 years EHS experience and a related degree are required.

Qualifikationen

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Environmental Science, Health & Safety, Sustainability, or related field.
• Minimum 2–4 years’ experience in an EHS role, ideally within manufacturing.
• Certified trainer in Manual Handling.
• Strong knowledge of Irish Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience with external audits (e.g., SMETA, HSA) is desirable.
• Origin Green experience is an advantage but not required.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Aufgaben

• Support the development and implementation of the environmental and sustainability strategy.
• Monitor environmental performance including energy usage, waste management, water consumption, and carbon-reduction initiatives.
• Lead sustainability reporting and contribute to certification or improvement programmes.
• Support cross-functional teams in driving sustainability-focused projects across the organisation.
• Maintain and continually improve the company’s Health & Safety Management System.
• Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with legislation and internal standards.
• Deliver safety training, manual handling, and awareness campaigns.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformances, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and insurance representatives.
• Coordinate and support external audits such as SMETA, HSA, and other regulatory or customer audits.
• Liaise with company insurers, ensuring all documentation, incident reports, and risk management requirements are accurately maintained.
• Ensure full compliance with Irish and EU EHS legislation.
