Job summary

Kepak Group in Clonee, Co. Meath, is seeking a proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to champion safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation and company policies, and drive continuous improvement across our site.

You will partner with managers and employees to deliver risk assessments, trainings, audits, environmental controls, and monthly EHS reporting, embedding a culture where safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics, or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation and maintenance of the Health & Safety Management System.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with health, safety legislation and procedures.
  • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks and training programmes.
  • Support environmental compliance, waste management, and environmental controls.
  • Prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards for management.

We are looking for a proactive, driven, and passionate Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Officer to champion and strengthen our safety culture at our site in Clonee, Co. Meath

In this key role, you will help shape a safe, healthy, and sustainable working environment by ensuring compliance with environmental, health and safety legislation, company policies, and industry best practices. Working closely with managers and employees across the business, you will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, promoting employee wellbeing, and embedding a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Health & Safety Management System
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identifying root causes and corrective actions
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Assist in developing safe systems of work, policies, and procedures
  • Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and employee training programmes


Environmental

  • Support compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and company standards
  • Monitor waste management, recycling programmes, and environmental controls
  • Assist in implementing environmental improvement initiatives and sustainability projects
  • Conduct environmental inspections and audits


Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Track corrective and preventative actions to completion
  • Support emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Prepare monthly EHS reports and KPI dashboards for management


Requirements

Essential

  • Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an EHS role within manufacturing, construction, engineering, logistics, or a similar environment
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Full driving licence


Desirable

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • IOSH Membership
  • Internal Auditor qualification
  • Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental improvement programmes
