Job summary

HR Duo is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer for a permanent full-time position in Kildare. The role involves ensuring project compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, developing Method Statements and Risk Assessments, and conducting audits and investigations.

You will work with the EHS Manager/Site Project Manager to foster a culture of safety excellence, deliver toolbox talks, and provide guidance on site‑specific EHS best practices across projects.

Qualifications

• A Level 7 or Level 8 Health and Safety qualification.
• Minimum five years' experience as an EHS Officer, preferably in a construction environment.
• Experience in high-compliance environments such as Pharma, Med/Tech, or similar industries.
• Knowledge of Integrated Management Systems including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with project stakeholders.
• Proactive mindset with a customer‑focused approach.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to ensure project compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments in coordination with supervisors/foremen.
• Conduct EHS audits and Accident/Incident investigations, implementing corrective and preventive measures.
• Provide guidance to Project Management on site‑specific EHS best practices.
• Plan and deliver training sessions, including Toolbox Talks, to promote a safety‑oriented culture.
• Report on EHS performance metrics as required.
• Actively promote and enforce company EHS policies and procedures.
• Provide support to the EHS department and collaborate with fellow EHS Officers as needed.
