Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Site EHS Lead to provide technical and operational EHS leadership across a complex pharmaceutical manufacturing site. You will translate priorities into day-to-day execution, manage EHS Engineers, and partner with manufacturing, engineering and project teams to assess and control health, safety and environmental risk.

The role requires a Chemical Engineering background with hands-on experience in regulated pharma environments, strong leadership and the ability to influence

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
• A relevant EHS qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and coordinate priorities.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational EHS leadership across a complex pharmaceutical manufacturing site using risk-based approaches.
• Lead the daily operation of the EHS Engineer team, set priorities and monitor delivery.
• Lead or support complex risk assessments involving chemical hazards and containment.
• Provide EHS input to capital projects, design reviews, and management of change.
• Coordinate incident investigations, audits, corrective actions and EHS programmes.
• Support a positive site safety culture through field engagement with operational leaders.
