Job summary

City of Springfield Labor Service in Ireland seeks a dedicated driver to operate a fully automated collection vehicle and manage refuse routes in the Connacht area. The role involves stop-and-go driving, positioning carts, loading refuse and delivering loads to disposal sites while following safety rules and procedures.

Applicants must be at least 16 and able to work under supervision; experience with routes is desirable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with route-based collection desirable.

Responsibilities

• Operates the fully automated collection vehicle.
• Collects refuse from properly placed roll out carts in the tree belt area.
• Exits vehicle to position carts as necessary.
• Loads refuse from container into truck by use of an automated arm.
• Transports loaded vehicle to the disposal site.
• Assists other drivers to maintain schedules.
• Performs routine vehicle maintenance; checks truck is operating properly and safely.
• Fills out daily drive sheet and submits to office.
• Issues warning/violation notices along routes as needed.
• Maintains simple daily activity records.
