Job summary

Dublin Simon Community is seeking an Education and Employability Project Worker to join our Client Development Team in Dublin. You will design, coordinate and deliver education, employability and personal development programmes, supporting clients to identify opportunities and progress towards learning, training and employment.

Role involves travel across Dublin Simon Community services and external locations with hours 37.5 per week, starting from €38,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• A recognized third-level qualification (minimum Degree Level 7) in Community Development or related discipline.
• Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, or barriers to education, employment and social inclusion.
• Experience designing, coordinating or delivering programmes and projects.
• Experience building partnerships with external organisations.
• Experience facilitating groups and delivering one-to-one support.

About the Job

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Education and Employability Project Worker to join our Client Development Team. In this role, you will design, coordinate and deliver education, employability and personal development programes, supporting clients to identify opportunities, overcome barriers and progress towards learning, training and employment. Contract Type: full-time, permanent

Location: Chester House, Dublin 7 (minimum two days per week) and Ushers Island, Dublin 8, with travel required across Dublin Simon Community services and external locations. Hours: 37-.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, 5-day liability Salary: starting from €38,000 DOE

Role Responsibilities

Education, Training & Employability

• Develop and deliver education and employability initiatives across the organisation.
• Provide one-to-one and group-based support to clients in education and employability.
• Support clients with college and course applications, grants, and enrolment processes.
• Deliver workshops in literacy, digital skills, study skills, career planning, CV preparation and interview techniques.
• Support clients to explore pathways into learning and employment.
• Promote further education, training, and Community Employment (CE) opportunities.
• Monitor client participation and achievements.

Program Development

• Build and maintain relationships with educational, employment and community organisations, while keeping up to date with sector developments to support effective service delivery.
• Contribute to the development of new programmes and funding proposals to enhance client outcomes.
• Develop professional, trusting relationships with clients that promote dignity, respect and inclusion.
• Encourage participation in education, training and personal development opportunities across services.
• Support clients to have a voice in programme development through feedback and consultation processes.
• Promote client achievements and success stories through internal and external communications initiatives.

Service Delivery & Team

• Work collaboratively with services and teams across Dublin Simon Community to deliver high-quality, person-centred services.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, databases and outcome measurements.
• Support volunteers involved in educational and employability initiatives.
• Attend meetings, working groups and planning sessions as required.
• Contribute flexibly to the wider operation and development of Client Development services and organizational activities where required

Person Specification

Qualifications: A recognized third-level qualification (minimum Degree Level 7 or equivalent) in one of the following areas:
