Job summary

Happy Days Community Childcare Service in Ratoath, Co. Meath, is inviting applications for a part-time Early Years Educator to join our warm, inclusive team. You will deliver a high-quality, play‑based early years programme for children aged 2 years 6 months to 6 years, 20 hours per week, term-time.

Garda Vetting is required (or willingness to undergo Garda Vetting prior to commencement). The role suits a professional, enthusiastic educator who enjoys team collaboration and supporting children's

Qualifications

  • Minimum QQI/FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education.
  • Knowledge of Aistear and Síolta and relevant childcare regulations.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Garda Vetting required or willingness to undergo Vetting prior to start.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and education in line with best practice.
  • Support children’s learning and development through a play-based curriculum.
  • Observe, assess and document children’s progress and development.
  • Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
  • Maintain an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents/guardians and management.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development.

Located in the heart of Ratoath Community Centre, our service is proud to be strongly connected to the local community and committed to providing high-quality, child-centred care and education. We cater for children aged 2 years 6 months to 6 years, supporting learning and development through a play-based curriculum in line with best practice.

The successful candidate will support the delivery of a high-quality early years programme in a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment. This role would suit a professional, enthusiastic educator who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to supporting young children’s development.

Job Details

Job Title: Early Years Educator
Job Type: Part-time, Term-time
Hours: 20 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 09:30 - 13:30
Location: Ratoath Community Centre, Co. Meath
Salary: 15 Euro Per Hr
Garda Vetting: Required (or willingness to undergo Garda Vetting prior to commencement)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and education in accordance with best practice and relevant regulations
  • Support children’s learning and development through a play-based curriculum
  • Observe, assess and document children’s progress and development
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing and security of all children at all times
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians and management
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures within the service
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development (Children First, First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety)
Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Minimum QQI/FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aistear, Síolta, and relevant childcare regulations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A professional, caring and positive approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
Desirable
  • Previous experience working in an early years setting
  • Current certificates in First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Safety and Children First (or willingness to complete training).
