Job summary

Carroll's Irish Gifts in Dublin is seeking a Store Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of a high-volume retail store. You will drive sales, manage people, stock and merchandising, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You will lead a team, recruit and train staff, and ensure compliance with health & safety, security and company policy while achieving KPIs and profitability targets. This role is on-site with opportunities for bonus based on performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing a retail store or high-volume operation.
• Strong track record delivering sales, commercial and operational KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and development skills.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to work with sales data.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Experience managing rotas, payroll and operating costs.
• Good understanding of health & safety, compliance, security and loss prevention.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day running and overall store performance.
• Be a people-first leader with consistent people management following policy.
• Embed Failte Values across store teams.
• Deliver sales, profitability and KPIs using data to forecast performance.
• Set targets and motivate the team to achieve/exceed.
• Recruit, onboard, train, develop and retain high-performing staff.
• Manage rosters, staffing levels, payroll costs and attendance.
• Lead by example with a customer-focused culture.
• Handle escalated customer complaints when needed.
• Manage stock availability, ordering, replenishment and stock takes.
• Maintain visual merchandising and store presentation to standard.
• Monitor budgets and identify profitability improvements.
• Ensure health & safety, security, cash-handling and compliance.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures, deliveries, maintenance and daily ops.
• Build relationships with suppliers and external partners.
• Monitor local competitors and market trends for growth opportunities.
• Proactively implement initiatives to boost sales and customer experience.
