Job summary

Europcar Mobility Group, a global mobility provider, is seeking a Driver Valetor to join our Dublin City Centre team. You will ensure efficient fleet operations, provide excellent customer service, and support vehicle movements across branches and pickup/drop-off points.

The role requires a full, clean B driving licence for at least 2 years, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. A positive attitude and attention to detail are essential to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Full clean B driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years is essential.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• 40 hour working week, Monday to Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and prepping vehicles for rental.
• Drive vehicles to/from designated locations and keep a log of movements.
• Perform pre- and post-rental inspections for cleanliness and safety.
• Audit vehicle quality inside and outside.
• Tracker installation/removal and activation/deactivation.
• Complete paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate vehicle movements with the team and prioritise tasks.
• Conduct safety and maintenance checks on vehicles.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines.
• Ensure health and safety of yourself and colleagues.
• Maintain a positive, professional demeanor and represent Europcar positively.
• Ad hoc duties as directed by management.

Key Responsibilities

• Cleaning and prepping vehicles for rental.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated locations, including rental branches, airports, and customer pickup/drop-off points keeping an accurate log of movements on our app.
• Perform pre- and post-rental inspections to ensure vehicles meet company standards for cleanliness and safety.
• Auditing the quality of vehicles both inside and outside.
• Tracker installation/removal and activation/deactivation.
• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate vehicle movements and prioritise tasks.
• Completing safety and maintenance checks on vehicles.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Responsible for own health and safety and that of other work colleagues.
• Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanour at all times, representing the company in a positive light.
• Ad hoc duties as directed by Management.

Your Skills

• Full clean B driving licence held for a minimum of 2 years essential.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• 40 hour working week Monday to Sunday.
• Physical ability to perform tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong ability to multi-task and manage pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communications skills - both written and verbal.
• Mechanical knowledge a plus. i.e. checking oil, tyres etc.

At the end of the 19th century, the car was a luxury reserved for the elite, but interested everyone, attracting crowds: in 1898, the first car show was held in Paris.

Car rental will see the light a few years later, across the Atlantic, but its development will be stopped by the first and then by the Second World Wars.

In the aftermath of the war, a Parisian entrepreneur revived the idea: “If you can’t afford to buy a car, why not rent one when you need it?”. His name was Raoul-Louis Mattei and in 1949, he created \"L'Abonnement Automobile\": a company that would later become the Compagnie Internationale Europcars, then Europcar.

Its headquarters, located 11 rue du Champ de Mars also included a rental agency.

The company's success was rapid, as car rental responded to a real need.

In 1951, l’Abonnement Automobile was the first company for car rental without a driver and its fleet counted 750 4 CV.

Now, the Europcar Mobility Group has over 200,000 vehicles on average in its fleet and serves 5 million customers in more than 140 countries.
