Job summary

Paddywagon Tours in Cork is seeking Driver-Guides to join our growing team. Our tours range from 1 to 9 days, and interview offers are being made quickly to suit demand.

Duties include vehicle preparation, cleanliness, safety checks, welcoming guests, delivering tour information, and organizing optional activities. Excellent knowledge of Ireland and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Class D or D1 license required to drive Passenger Carrying Vehicle.
• Customer service experience is handy.
• People person with initiative, reliable, punctual, and organised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle for trip including cleaning and ensuring all equipment is present.
• Mechanical checks using the standard checklist.
• Greeting guests each morning and ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
• Full delivery of tour information to guests.
• Organising optional activities, picnics, walks and site visits.
• Post-tour vehicle cleaning and checks.

DAILY RATE OF PAY EUR 175.00 - 200.00+ PER DAY (DEPENDING ON THE TOUR ETC)

AN OPERATIONS MANAGER or TRANSPORT MANAGER WILL INTERVIEW APPLICANTS AND MAKE OFFERS QUICKLY TO SUITABLE DRIVERS.

Our drivers have access to the best vehicles in the industry, from luxury Mercedes- Benz sedans and vans on private tours to comfortable mini- coaches and touring coaches for our award winning public group tours.

We require Driver-Guides to join our growing team in Cork. We are passionate about offering a fantastic experience to our customers and require the highest level of dedication and professionalism from all our team. In return, we spend considerable time and effort into developing people into our guiding roles.

Our guests come from all over the world and across a wide spectrum of ages and backgrounds. But they are all here to relax, unwind and enjoy Ireland.

If you are interested in being a driver-guide and taking tours lasting from 1 to 9 days – then we would be interested in hearing from you. It is hard work but is also great fun and very rewarding. Plus the pay is industry leading.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Preparation of vehicle for trip including
• Ensure it is clean, and has all ancillary kit and equipment
• Mechanical Check – following check list
• Excellent all round knowledge of Ireland
• Greeting guests each morning
• Safety and contentment of customers
• Full delivery of tour information
• Organising optional activities, picnics, walks and site visits

Post tour:

• Cleaning vehicle inside and out
• Post tour vehicle checks

Other duties: These may vary, and activities outside the role of driver-guide would be optional

Requirements:

• Class D or D1 Passenger Carrying Vehicle License
• Tourism or touring experience would be an advantage but not essential. Customer service experience also handy.
• A ‘People Person’- Patient, outgoing, independent, with initiative, reliable, punctual, personable, organised. You don’t have to be the life and soul of the party, but good interpersonal skills are a must.
