Job summary

College Biofuels is seeking a Driver to join the Biofuel's Team in Ireland. The role involves safely collecting used cooking oil from commercial properties and transporting it to our Biodiesel plant, ensuring timely deliveries and accurate paperwork.

You will work as part of a small operational team, requiring flexibility with start/finish times, strong safety awareness and good knowledge of Ireland to plan routes efficiently.

Qualifications

  • A valid clean driver's license is required.
  • Ability to perform manual handling and load/unload containers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers.
  • A commitment to safety, accuracy, and following procedures.
  • Willingness to accommodate variable start and finish times.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and work well as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills with ability to organise and prioritise work for timely completion.

Responsibilities

  • Collection and Delivery: Conduct multi-drop collections of used cooking oil from designated customer locations.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate a van or truck to transport collected oil, perform daily vehicle checks, and ensure the vehicle is clean and secure.
  • Customer Interaction: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing any queries or issues that may arise.
  • Paperwork & Stock Control: Accurately complete all required paperwork, including collection logs, delivery receipts, and stock reconciliation sheets.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company health, safety, and hygiene procedures, and report any incidents.
  • Yard Operations: Assist with yard operations as needed, including the loading and unloading of oil containers.
  • Route Planning: Plan and optimise delivery and collection routes to ensure efficiency.
  • Ad hoc duties: Carry out other ad hoc duties as requested by Management.

Job description

College Group was founded in 1989 and currently operates from three state-of-the-art sites; Nobber in County Meath, Monnery in County Cavan, and Newry in County Down.

College Biofuels is a renewable energy company producing sustainable, environmentally friendly fuel for the transport and heating sectors.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Driver to join the Biofuel's Team. This position will be an integral part of our operation and will involve safely collecting used cooking oil (UCO) from commercial properties and transporting to our Biodiesel plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collection and Delivery: Conduct multi-drop collections of used cooking oil from designated customer locations.
  • Vehicle Operations: Operate a van or truck to transport collected oil, perform daily vehicle checks, and ensure the vehicle is clean and secure.
