Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Registered Gas Installer (RGI) to join a Dublin-based building and plumbing contractor on a long-term, permanent basis. The role covers domestic gas installations, servicing and maintenance across residential properties in Dublin.

The ideal candidate will hold current RGI registration, have solid experience with domestic gas works and boilers, and demonstrate strong attention to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Current RGI registration and the qualifications to carry out domestic gas works in Ireland.
• Proven experience as an RGI Plumber in domestic environments.
• Strong practical experience with domestic gas installations, servicing, maintenance, testing and fault finding.
• Good knowledge of domestic plumbing systems and general plumbing practices.
• Experience with domestic boilers and gas appliances.
• Understanding of Irish gas safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Ability to diagnose problems and complete works efficiently and professionally.
• Good communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently while also cooperating with other trades and site personnel.
• Full, clean driving licence is desirable.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification are desirable where required for site-based works.
• Reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out domestic gas installation, servicing, maintenance, repair, and commissioning works.
• Installing, connecting, testing, and maintaining domestic gas appliances and associated pipework.
• Working on boilers, cookers, fires, and other domestic gas appliances where suitably qualified.
• Carrying out gas safety checks, testing, fault finding, and diagnostics.
• Identifying and resolving gas and plumbing faults efficiently and professionally.
• Completing required certification and documentation following completed gas works.
• Working from drawings, specifications, job sheets, and site instructions where required.
• Liaising professionally with homeowners, site management, contractors, and other trades.
