Job summary

SSO Personnel is seeking an experienced Domestic Plumber with strong expertise in heating systems, heat pumps, and general plumbing in Ireland. The role focuses on installation, servicing and maintenance of domestic heating solutions within residential settings.

You will manage boiler and heat pump installations, perform safety inspections, and uphold quality standards while delivering excellent customer service and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• National Craft Certificate in Plumbing is required.
• 1–2 years' relevant experience in domestic plumbing.
• Experience with domestic heating, heat pumps and general plumbing.
• Full Irish driving licence.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Installation of central heating boilers, including system and control upgrades.
• Installation and maintenance of heat pumps in retrofit properties.
• Installation and maintenance of oil boilers.
• Service, repair and safety inspection of domestic heating appliances.
• Service and repair of domestic central heating and hot water plumbing systems.
• Diagnose and repair heating appliance and system faults.
• Upgrade and install central heating controls, including smart technologies.
• Carry out electrical safety tests on domestic heating installations.
• Verify CO alarms and conduct room safety checks.
• Maintain company and regulatory documentation.

Domestic Plumber – Heating & Heat Pumps

Location: Ireland

Salary: €55,000 – €60,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday – Friday

SSO Personnel are currently recruiting an experienced Domestic Plumber with a strong background in domestic heating, heat pumps and general plumbing.

The Role

You will be responsible for the installation, servicing and maintenance of domestic heating systems, including boilers, heat pumps and associated plumbing and controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of central heating boilers, including system and control upgrades.
• Installation and maintenance of heat pumps in retrofit properties.
• Installation and maintenance of oil boilers.
• Service, repair and safety inspection of domestic heating appliances.
• Service and repair of domestic central heating and hot water plumbing systems.
• Diagnose and repair heating appliance and system faults.
• Upgrade and install central heating controls, including smart technologies.
• Carry out electrical safety tests on domestic heating installations.
• Correctly locate, install and verify CO alarms in line with current standards.
• Carry out combustion gas analyser testing, including room safety checks.
• Take responsibility for all aspects of central heating installation and customer safety.
• Generate, organise and maintain company and regulatory documentation.

Requirements

• National Craft Certificate in Plumbing.
• 1–2 years' relevant experience.
• Experience working in domestic homes.
• Background in heat pumps and general plumbing.
• An aptitude for logical fault finding would be an advantage.
• Full Irish driving licence.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively with members of the public and as part of a wider team.
• Positive attitude towards health, safety, training and professional development.
