Job summary

Ogier in Ireland is seeking an Associate for its Dispute Resolution team. You will provide technically sound legal advice to clients, under supervision, and take ownership of straightforward matters from start to finish.

As part of your role you will stay abreast of new legislation, contribute to the team’s knowledge base, respond promptly to client queries, and help develop cost estimates. Ogier values a collaborative, professional and progressive working environment in Ireland.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in Ireland, approx. 3 years’ PQE.
• Excellent academic record, 2:1 or higher, and FE-1 PPC I & PPC II or equivalent.
• Experience in a leading Irish commercial law firm or international firm of comparable standing.
• Excellent drafting and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technically sound legal advice directly to clients, with supervision from more senior fee earners, taking ownership of straightforward matters and transactions from end to end.
• Stay informed of new legislation and market developments, and contribute to the team’s know-how by capturing precedents and procedures with the knowledge management team.
• Respond quickly and effectively to client queries, understand the full range of services offered by Ogier, and identify opportunities to develop new client work.
• Begin to develop negotiating skills in the preparation of legal costs estimates and quotations, providing input to partners as required.
• Deliver excellent client service at all times, consistent with the firm’s professional and regulatory obligations, including those of the Law Society of Ireland and the Legal Services Regulatory Authority.
