Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum is seeking a senior leader in Network Contracting & Pricing in Ireland to shape pharmacy network strategy across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines, leveraging data to deliver value. This role offers a unique view of US healthcare market dynamics from an Ireland-based team, with hybrid Dublin/home-based work arrangements.

You will partner with finance, actuarial, legal, and client teams; lead negotiations with national chains; ensure regulatory compliance; and

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field.
Experience in pharmacy contracting, PBM, or healthcare payer.
Proven leadership and people management experience.
Experience negotiating complex provider or vendor agreements.
Strong financial acumen with ability to interpret pricing models.

Responsibilities

Lead pharmacy network contracting strategy across commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid lines.
Optimize network composition, reimbursement structures, and provider participation.
Evaluate network adequacy, disruption risk, and geographic coverage.
Oversee contract lifecycle management including renewals and terminations.
Drive unit cost improvements via rate optimization and new reimbursement models.
Model contract economics with finance and actuarial teams.
Ensure contracts comply with CMS Part D, Medicaid, and state regs.
Collaborate with clinical, operations, legal, compliance, finance, and product teams.
Support RFPs, client retention, and network strategy communications.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of contracting professionals.
