As OpenText accelerates its AI transformation, Ireland is a key strategic R&D investment hub for advanced AI engineering, applied AI platforms, sovereign cloud, cybersecurity, and trusted enterprise innovation. As part of this investment, we’re looking to welcome a Director, AI Engineering and Applied AI Platform (Ireland R&D) to build and lead a high-impact AI engineering capability within our Cork Centre of Excellence. This is a highly visible, build-and-scale leadership role, central to shaping OpenText’s global AI innovation footprint.
You will be responsible for establishing and growing a best-in-class Ireland-based team focused on reusable AI platform capabilities, agentic AI systems, orchestration patterns, evaluation frameworks, and production-grade deployment standards. You will define how trusted enterprise AI is engineered, governed, and scaled across OpenText products and cloud operations. This is not a research-only role - it is about translating AI strategy into real, production-ready capability. You will partner closely with product engineering, cloud operations, security, architecture, legal, compliance, and business leaders to deliver AI solutions that are secure, scalable, and enterprise-ready.
By building reusable platforms, engineering patterns, and strong local capability, you will accelerate AI adoption, improve delivery efficiency, and enable product differentiation across the organization. You will also play a key role in strengthening Ireland as a centre of excellence for trusted enterprise AI development. This role offers broad impact across engineering, product, go-to-market teams, partners, and executive leadership, and is pivotal to advancing OpenText’s innovation agenda.
