Job summary

Sunrise Group is seeking a Direct Support Professional to provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community settings.

You will work under supervision to help residents live valued lives, following individual plans and health and safety protocols. A background check is required and you must have a valid driver’s license with endorsements.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License with endorsements and have at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Must possess basic computer skills.
• Minimum one year of experience in human services if required by work location.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report suspected abuse or violations of rights.
• Provide support, assistance and supervision to meet individuals' needs and goals.
• Ensure training and support programs are implemented and documented per regulatory requirements.
• Protect health, safety and well-being of individuals at all times.
• Promote independence and choice in a positive environment.
• Follow positioning schedules and use proper equipment per plan.
• Assist with diet, textures and equipment needs as required.
• Maintain homes, outdoor areas and vehicles in good condition.
