Job summary

CareerWise Recruitment is seeking a Digitalisation Specialist for a Life Sciences client in Waterford. This 12-month contract focuses on driving local adoption and implementation of iLab tools (BIOVIA Workbook, Foundation Hub, ULM and CisPro) at the Waterford site.

The role requires project leadership, strong collaboration with IT and scientific teams, and hands-on deployment of templates and data workflows. You will train users and ensure end-to-end transformation across laboratory processes.

Qualifications

• Degree required in a scientific or IT discipline; strong analytical mindset preferred.
• Experience in a regulated pharma/biotech lab environment is essential.
• Excellent communication and training skills; ability to work across scientific and IT teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the 2026-2027 Waterford roadmap for MFS and AS, from implementation to user training.
• Track tasks, timelines and milestones; report progress to stakeholders.
• Identify roadblocks and drive mitigations in lab data workflows and equipment integration.
• Register AS and MFS equipment to iLab via ULM; deploy equipment integrations.
• Develop and deploy workbook templates; ensure raw data and Excel files import smoothly.
• Collaborate with AS, MFS, IT, and global teams; share learnings across sites.
• Deliver user training and gather feedback to improve user adoption of iLab workflows.

Job description

Digitalisation Specialist required for Life Sciences client based in Waterford. Initial 12 month contract.

Role Purpose The iLab Digitalisation Specialist will drive the local adoption and implementation of iLab (BIOVIA Workbook, Foundation Hub, Unified Laboratory Module (ULM) and CisPro) at the Waterford site.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver the 2026-2027 Waterford roadmap for MFS and AS, from project implementation through user training and e2e transformation.
• Track tasks, timelines and milestones, and report progress to stakeholders.
• Identify roadblocks (e.g. server performance, data import, PDF reporting, equipment connectivity) and drive mitigations. Equipment management (ULM)
• Register AS equipment and MFS equipment to iLab via ULM.
• Deploy basic and complex equipment integration to the generic workbook, including Caducee integration.
• Support calibration and data transfer workflows. Sample and material management (CisPro)
• Initiate and deploy sample management and material/reagent inventory tracking for MFS and AS.
• Ensure samples, materials and equipment are linked to the Workbook to remove manual transcription. Experiment management and templates
• Work with SMEs in AS and MFS to design, build and deploy custom Workbook templates.
• Align data entry with equipment and material data, and enable raw data and Excel files to be brought into the Workbook. Collaboration and stakeholder engagement
• Act as the link between AS, MFS, local IT (ITS Digital), Global IT, the Global Digitalisation team, Metrology and HSE.
• Engage with other sites (e.g. Geel) to learn from their experience and apply best practices. Training and adoption
• Develop and deliver user training, and gather user feedback to improve the user experience.
• Champion the move from interim tools (e.g. Power Apps) to fully integrated iLab workflows.
• Qualifications and Experience Essential
• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, or a related scientific or IT discipline.
• Experience in a laboratory environment (analytical development, QC, or manufacturing/process sciences) in a regulated pharma or biotech setting.
• Understanding of laboratory workflows: sample management, method execution, data review and reporting.
• Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to work across scientific and IT teams.
