Job summary

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) is seeking a Digital Infrastructure Specialist in Dublin to manage FTDA infrastructure, ensure secure, resilient systems, and support forensic and investigative activities. Qualifications

• Three years' experience in ICT infrastructure or systems administration.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox VE, VMware, or equivalent).
• Experience supporting Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and IT infrastructure concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to deliver results and manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience administering Proxmox VE environments, including clustering and backup.
• Experience working in secure or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and controls.
• Experience contributing to ICT or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience using Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Purview, including conducting Content Searches and exporting data for eDiscovery and forensic investigations.
• Exposure to digital forensics, eDiscovery, or data analytics environments.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operation and monitoring of FTDA infrastructure systems.
• Assist with the administration of virtualisation platforms (including Proxmox VE or equivalent).
• Support the management of Windows and Linux servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
• Maintain secure environments for sensitive and evidential data.
• Support system updates, patching, and maintenance activities.
• Monitor systems and elevate issues where appropriate.
• Support backup and recovery processes (e.g. Proxmox Backup Server).
• Support cybersecurity monitoring and the implementation of controls.
• Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• Contribute to FTDA infrastructure projects aligned with enforcement needs.
• Assist in requirements gathering and the delivery of technical solutions.
• Support procurement activities and vendor engagement.
• Maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Collaborate with FTDA, enforcement teams, and ICT where required.
