Job summary

Dexcom Ireland is seeking Technician 1-3 level professionals for weekend night shifts in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will test, operate and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment, robots and vision systems, supporting equipment engineers and suppliers to meet specifications and timelines.

Roles are suited for candidates with Level 6/7 qualifications and up to 6 years of related experience, offering opportunities across Technician levels and exposure to global CGM manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Requires Level 6/7 qualification with 0–6 years related experience depending on Technician level.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents related to equipment specs.
  • Proven ability to write routine reports and communicate with engineers and managers.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLC and automated production equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies using test equipment.
  • Work with schematics, diagrams and plans to support equipment engineers.
  • Operate, test and maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • Document test results and update equipment documentation as needed.
  • Follow safety and LOTO procedures and participate in process improvements.

These positions will be opening up in the second half of 2026and will be transitioning to our Weekend Night Shift in Q4 2026.This will consist of 12-hour night shifts every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

Meet the Team

Under the direction of the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technicians will provide technical support to equipment engineers for the improvement, installation, validation and transfer of replicate custom automated equipment used in the scale-up of manufacturing for existing or new Dexcom products. These duties include supporting cross functional equipment deployment teams while working with outside suppliers to meet equipment specifications and timelines.

Where you come in
  • You will work with schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • You will test performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test equipment.
  • You will have experience with pneumatics, electromechanical systems, PLCs, robotic systems in a high volume manufacturing environment.
  • You will operate, test, or maintain robotic equipment and vision systems.
  • You will analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation.
  • You will perform operational test and fault isolation on automated systems and equipment.
  • You will carry out activities in equipment development under supervision of the project engineer. These activities include the assembly and testing of equipment, fixtures, processes and/or electronics, completing engineering studies and validations.
  • You will follow Dexcom’s Safety and Lock Out/Tag out (LOTO) program.
  • You will assume and perform other duties as assigned.
  • You will perform all assigned tasks with appropriate safety requirements.
  • You will update equipment related documentations (manuals, drawings, and specifications) as needed.
What makes you successful
  • Typically requires a Level 6/7 qualification and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience (Technician 1), 2-4 years of related experience (Technician 2), and 4-6 years of related experience (Technician 3).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
  • Ability to write routine reports, pass downs and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
  • Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Electro/Mechanical systems and Packaging equipment highly desirable.
  • Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
  • Proven ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
  • Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development – Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.
