Job summary

Dexcom Ireland is hiring a Shift-based Engineering Supervisor to lead equipment technicians, oversee PM/CM in Maximo, and drive maintenance excellence. You will coordinate tasks, review time sheets, and manage projects while ensuring safety and high equipment availability.

We value hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. A NFQ Level 7/8 qualification is preferred and experience with PLCs and automated equipment is highly desirable.

This is a fully onsite, shift based role and will be transitioning to our Back End Day Shift Pattern as per the business ramp requirements (earliest Q1 2027). This will involve 12-hour day shifts (7am-7pm) every Friday to Sunday and alternate Thursdays, following a repeating 4-on/3-off – 3-on/4-off schedule.

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Supervisor will provide technical leadership and support to equipment technicians across the shift. Manage the shift technicians, equipment, and line performance through specific maintenance KPI’s. This role also involves supporting cross-functional departments as needed to help maintain an optimal operations environment.

Where you come in:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of equipment technicians during the assigned shift, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Review PM (Preventative Maintenance) and CM (Corrective Maintenance) activities in Maximo as part of maintenance oversight. Delegate preventative maintenance tasks and oversee corrective maintenance activities. Review and approve technician time and attendance records as required. Supervise projects such as layout moves, equipment assembly, and validation report execution. Deliver monthly performance updates through one‑on‑one meetings with each technician. Coordinate or conduct technician training as needed to maintain skill levels and support development. Work closely alongside the Production Supervisor to ensure smooth and effective shift operations. Know when to step in and provide hands-on support, particularly in escalation scenarios or when critical decisions are required. Maintain and report on department metrics such as OEE, Yield and other related KPIs related to equipment performance and maintenance. Ensure full compliance with all safety procedures, including Dexcom’s Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) program and all other relevant safety protocols. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to sustain equipment and to support equipment deployment and improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date equipment documentation (manuals, drawings, specifications).

What makes you successful:

• Either formal or informal supervisory experience in a similar role is essential i.e , Technical Supervisor, Lead Technician, Technical Team Lead etc.
• You have extensive experience in a technical role supporting manufacturing i.e. Technician, Engineer etc.
• Typically requires an NFQ Level 7 or Level 8 qualification and a minimum of 5-8 years of related experience.
• Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical documents related to equipment specifications.
• Ability to write routine reports, shift reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, engineers and managers.
• Knowledge and experience with PLC and Automated production/process equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Electro/Mechanical systems, Resistance welders, Packaging equipment highly desirable.
• Experience with process improvement projects i.e. improving yields, reducing downtime.
• Proven ability to work hands‑on in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and personal interaction skills.
• Knowledge of high reliability, high volume manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Technical writing skills as applied to manufacturing documentation and process development - Experienced in the creation and revision of technical documentation.

The annualised base salary for this position is from €70,125.00 to €90,750.00 gross. Final offer will depend on your qualifications, competencies, and professional experience.
