Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland is recruiting an experienced Development Manager to lead a software engineering team delivering secure, scalable SaaS products in a fast-growing technology environment.

You will own engineering delivery across initiatives, mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and Design, and help shape engineering standards and technology roadmaps in Dublin city centre.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience in software engineering with significant leadership responsibilities.
• Strong background in modern full-stack technologies and engineering practices.
• Experience delivering and supporting enterprise-scale SaaS platforms.
• Proven people leadership including coaching, performance management and development.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across engineering, product and business teams.
• Experience in regulated industries or financial services is a plus.

Job Description:

Our client is looking for an experienced Development Manager to lead a software engineering team and support the continued development of secure, scalable SaaS products within a growing technology environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and develop a team of software engineers, creating clear development pathways and supporting individual and team performance.
• Take ownership of engineering delivery across key initiatives, ensuring solutions are reliable, scalable and built to appropriate technical standards.
• Partner with Product, Design and other technology functions to translate business and customer requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Establish a strong engineering culture focused on collaboration, ownership, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Support technical decision-making and help shape engineering standards, practices and longer-term technology priorities.
• Coach engineers and emerging leaders, helping to strengthen both technical capability and leadership skills across the team.
• Work effectively with senior stakeholders, internal specialists and external partners to deliver technology initiatives successfully.
• Promote secure engineering practices, ensuring development processes incorporate appropriate security controls and that identified vulnerabilities are addressed.

Experience Required

• Minimum 5+ years' experience within software engineering, including significant experience managing or leading development teams.
• Strong software development background with a good understanding of modern full-stack technologies and engineering practices.
• Previous experience delivering and supporting enterprise-scale SaaS platforms or similar software products.
• Demonstrated people leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, performance management and professional development.
• Strong understanding of Agile development and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience working across multiple projects or priorities within a complex technology environment.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to communicate effectively across engineering, product and business teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to influence decisions and drive delivery.
• Experience delivering technology within financial services, regulated industries or similarly complex environments.
• Previous exposure to Product Owner responsibilities or product-led development.
• Agile coaching or software delivery management experience.
• Good understanding of application security, secure development principles and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience contributing to wider engineering strategy or technology roadmaps.
• Additional language capabilities would be advantageous.

Educational Requirements

• Third-level qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or another relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
