Job summary

Sanmina Fermoy in Ireland is seeking a Desktop Systems Manager to lead IT services for desktop, server and networked systems at the Fermoy site.

You will oversee ESX virtualization, cloud storage, network management, and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory and health and safety standards.

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with people management and project delivery in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Degree / Diploma or equivalent.
• 8 years + relevant experience in a similar industry.
• 3-5 years people management experience.
• High level programming language.
• Familiarity with network / protocols.

Responsibilities

• Administration and support for ESX Virtual Servers and Cloud based data storage and backups.
• Procurement of IT related equipment.
• Management and planning of all corporate networks within the plant.
• Liaising with Corporate IT group, development of macros and other software based systems to automate processes.
• Ensure that all phases of desktop support, including installations, upgrades, software, hardware, operating systems and OS configuration issues, are properly coordinated, monitored, tracked and resolved.
• Oversees maintenance of infrastructure for data integrity and security for desktop systems.
• Develops information technology projects and provides strategic management and objectives for the department.
• Manage training programs designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic computer use and specialist applications.
• Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the effective operation of the function.
• Assure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations.

OBJECTIVES OF POSITION:

• Manages the activities and personnel associated with providing technical services to internal customers by identifying, prioritizing and confirming resolution of reported problems with desktop, laptop and networked systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
