Job summary

Vision Built, a Sisk Company, is recruiting an experienced Design Manager to lead design teams in a modular/MMC environment in Galway. The role focuses on maintaining design quality, coordinating with departments, and delivering clear, client-aligned design outputs.

The successful candidate will manage budgets, mentor staff, and drive a schedule that ensures timely production of structural drawings and designs, while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Tier 1/2 contracting, modular contracting or design consultancy.
• Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

We are now recruiting an experienced Design Manager who will efficiently manage design teams/departments in modular/MMC environment.

• Attending, hosting or coordinating department meetings.
• Ensuring that the design work is of sufficient quality and that all directives are being followed.
• Collaborating with your own team and with other departments to achieve design goals.
• Working to meet the expectations of the client.
• Delegating work where necessary and reviewing that work when it has been completed.
• Creating innovative ideas and designs and putting them into a context that the rest of the team and the client/customer can understand.
• Developing a budget and analysing that budget regularly to ensure it remains tenable.
• Mentoring and guiding team members and motivating them to achieve their goals and yours.
• Conducting team training on developments within the design work or new business guidelines.
• Motivate, encourage and support internal and external design teams.
• Aim for timely, high-quality and understandable production of structural drawings and designs.
• Assist in creating the design delivery schedule with the client, project manager, design managers and consultants.
• 7+ years’ experience in Tier 1 contracting, Tier 2 contracting, modular contracting or design consultancy companies
• Proficient in Revit/AutoCAD software
• Proficient use in MS Office
• NFQ Level 7 (third level) in Architectural Technology qualification
• Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal
• Creative mind and attention to detail
• Good organisational skills
• Time management and multi-tasking skills
