Job description

Logitech is the Sweet Spot for people who want their actions to have a positive global impact while having the flexibility to do it in their own way.

The Team and Role:

The Design for Sustainability (DfS) team operates at the technical frontier of low carbon and lifecycle optimisation. We are a high-energy, focused group obsessed with hardware and the challenge of creating products that are as responsible as they are functional.

As a Design for Sustainability Specialist, you combine a deep appreciation for hardware design with a background in technical product development. Your mission is to rethink the future of consumer electronics—maximising product value and longevity while minimising the total physical footprint. You will partner with our corporate sustainability, design, engineering and marketing teams to integrate climate action into every stage of product development, directly influencing the legacy of millions of products worldwide.

Your Contribution:

Be Yourself. Be Open. Stay Hungry and Humble. Collaborate. Challenge. Decide and just Do. Share our passion for Equality and the Environment. These are the behaviours and values you’ll need for success at Logitech. In this role you will:

  • Lead the sustainable design strategy for both new product introductions (NPI) and existing products (MP), ensuring that all sustainable design opportunities have been maximised.
  • Embed with cross-functional teams during early-stage development to steer architectural decisions to create low-carbon architectures.
  • Identify and execute strategies to reduce carbon footprint, advance product longevity and optimise material recovery at end of life (EOL)
  • Establish technical guidelines and standards that streamline lifecycle-conscious development across the organisation.
  • Drive research on sustainable design by creating insights that enable our product development teams to take action.
  • Architect data-driven tools to quantify, visualise and report on product carbon footprint performance and circular design.
  • Conduct rigorous technical analyses of hardware to evolve and refine our approach to sustainable design
  • Mentor and align colleagues across various functions, fostering a culture of collective responsibility when it comes to reaching our climate commitments.
Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

  • Experience: 5+ years in technical product development with a broad understanding of the full hardware lifecycle.
  • Technical Core: Deep knowledge of mechanical, materials and electronics design, specifically how these elements influence sustainability.
  • Lifecycle Expertise: Proficiency in lifecycle thinking and sustainable design principles. You understand how to optimise for carbon reduction and circular design.
  • Analytical Rigour: Hands-on experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodologies is a distinct advantage.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to see the “bigger picture” by applying strategies that go beyond basic material swaps.
  • Technical Tools: Fluency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred) and data-visualisation.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical performance data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to drive results within multi-disciplinary teams and lead cross‑functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mindset: A self-starter with a proactive, curious nature and a commitment to solving the technical challenges product development brings.
Education

Preferred degree in Industrial Design (ID), Colour Material Finish (CMF) Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical, scientific field. Equivalent industrial experience in a relevant discipline will also be considered.
