Job summary

Dalata Hotel Group in Galway is seeking a Deputy General Manager to drive daily hotel operations, lead department heads and motivate teams to deliver exceptional service while shaping guest experiences and profitability.

You will report to the General Manager, influence strategy, oversee staff development and ensure high standards across food, beverage and service, with a strong focus on KPIs and cost control. This is a full‑time role in a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years in a Deputy, Operations or Senior Manager role within a large hotel.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to motivate staff.
• Strong commercial awareness with KPI, cost and revenue ownership.
• Ability to develop and nurture talented employees and influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support to the General Manager for hotel operations.
• Directly lead the heads of departments and ensure consistent service excellence.

The Deputy General Manager will report to and support the General Manager in leading the daily operations of the hotel while motivating and guiding the team.

Your Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support to the General Manager for all hotel operations.
• Directly lead the heads of departments.
• Ensure that all staff are consistently motivated and engaged to deliver exceptional service.
• Oversee succession planning by leading the development and continuous learning of hotel staff.
• Maintain the highest level of customer care within the property.
• Support the hotel's profitability and cost management efforts.

What You Will Need

• 3-4 years of experience in a Deputy, Operations or Senior Manager role within a large hotel.
• Experience in people leadership and motivation.
• Strong commercial awareness and experience in managing KPIs, targets, costs and revenues.
• Proven ability to develop and nurture talented employees.
• Strong communication skills, with comfort in contributing to the overall hotel strategy.
• Ability to develop and build relationships and influence at all levels of the organization.
