Responsibilities

• Review daily cash transactions and analyse associated cash flows.
• Review investor and investment transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, client objectives and investment restrictions.
• Review NAV calculations to ensure appropriate controls have been applied.
• Review investment documentation to verify asset ownership and ensure records are maintained accurately.
• Support additional operational activities and contribute to the depositary function.

The Opportunity

An established financial services organisation is seeking a Depositary Officer to join its team on a six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with experience in alternative investment funds to develop their expertise across depositary operations, cash monitoring, oversight and asset verification.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day depositary operations, including cash monitoring, investment oversight and asset verification/safekeeping.
• Review daily cash transactions and analyse associated cash flows.
• Review investor and investment transactions to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, client objectives and investment restrictions.
• Review Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations to ensure appropriate controls have been applied.
• Review investment documentation to verify asset ownership and ensure relevant records are maintained accurately.
• Support additional operational activities and contribute to the effective delivery of the depositary function.

Requirements

• Experience: 1–2 years' relevant experience within the alternative investment funds industry, ideally in depositary, trustee, fund accounting or transfer agency operations.
• Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
• Organisation: Highly organised, adaptable and capable of managing multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• Personal Attributes: A proactive, self-motivated team player who can use initiative and work independently when required.
