DeltaV Area Lead for GMP Pharma Automation

Job summary

Impact Engineering Ltd. is seeking a DeltaV Area Lead to support major pharmaceutical projects from our County Limerick site. The role requires onsite presence 3–4 days per week, with leadership across the Automation NPI team and broad DeltaV expertise in a GMP environment.

You will deliver functional design specs, lead code changes, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to achieve on-time project delivery while maintaining compliance with CSV and data integrity standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or related.
• 7+ years’ automation experience in Pharma/Biopharma.
• 5+ years DeltaV hands-on in GMP facilities.
• Experience as DeltaV Lead or Senior Automation Engineer on NPI projects.
• Strong DeltaV coding and ISA88/S88 batch experience.
• Experience with commissioning, qualification, and startup.
• Knowledge of GMP, CSV, and data integrity.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Process Engineering experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• ISA95 and MES concepts knowledge.
• Experience with large capital projects.
• Exposure to PLC/SCADA with DeltaV.

Responsibilities

• Act as DeltaV Area Lead within a multidisciplinary Automation Team.
• Lead and coordinate DeltaV project activities across process areas.
• Collaborate with Process SMEs, CQV Leads, PMs, and Automation Engineers to define requirements.
• Generate and review FDS, ACPs, and other project documentation.
• Participate in design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning and qualification support.
• Implement DeltaV code modifications in line with GMP requirements.
• Support schedule execution, issue resolution, and project milestones.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Automation Engineers.
• Ensure GMP, Data Integrity, and CSV compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support operational readiness and handover to site operations.
