Job description

Delivery Manager – AI / Banking – Contract – Dublin Hybrid – EU or UK

Contract: 12 months

Travel: Typically 1 overnight stay per week

Engagement: Umbrella if based in the UK

We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to join a major banking programme on an initial 12-month contract.

This is a senior delivery role working across technically complex initiatives with a strong focus on AI, technology transformation and banking. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating between senior business stakeholders, engineering teams, architecture, product and programme leadership.

This is not a purely governance-focused Delivery Manager position. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background who can understand complex technology environments, challenge technical teams when required and drive delivery across multiple dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives across a major banking environment
• Manage delivery across engineering, architecture, product, data, AI and business teams
• Own delivery plans, milestones, dependencies, risks and issues
• Coordinate multiple technical workstreams and ensure alignment across teams
• Work closely with engineering and architecture teams to understand technical challenges and remove delivery blockers
• Drive delivery of AI-related initiatives, ensuring appropriate coordination between technology, data and business stakeholders
• Manage senior stakeholder expectations and provide clear visibility of programme status
• Facilitate effective governance, planning, reporting and decision-making
• Identify delivery risks early and drive appropriate mitigation
• Manage dependencies across internal teams, third parties and wider transformation programmes
• Ensure delivery remains aligned to banking governance, risk, security and regulatory requirements
• Drive accountability across teams while maintaining a pragmatic and collaborative delivery approach
• Support continuous improvement of delivery processes, ways of working and team effectiveness

Required Experience

• Strong experience as a Delivery Manager, Senior Delivery Manager, Technical Delivery Manager or Programme Delivery Lead
• Significant experience delivering complex technology programmes within banking or financial services
• Strong technical background with the ability to understand and discuss architecture, engineering, data and integration challenges
• Demonstrable experience delivering initiatives involving Artificial Intelligence / AI
• Experience working with engineering, platform, data or cloud teams
• Strong understanding of modern technology delivery environments
• Experience managing multiple workstreams, dependencies and senior stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Comfortable challenging technical and business teams where required
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery, while also being comfortable working within wider programme governance structures
• Experience operating within highly regulated environments

AI Experience

Candidates should have practical experience working on programmes involving areas such as:

• Generative AI
• AI platforms
• AI-enabled applications
• Data and AI transformation
• LLM-related initiatives
• AI integration into existing enterprise systems
• AI governance, controls or responsible AI environments

You do not need to be an AI engineer, but you must be comfortable managing delivery across teams working with AI technologies and understand the technical and organisational challenges involved.

Banking Experience

Strong banking experience is essential.

Exposure to areas such as payments, risk, regulatory transformation, data, digital banking, cloud transformation or enterprise technology would be advantageous.

Working Arrangements

The role requires 2 days per week onsite in Dublin, typically involving one overnight stay per week for candidates outside if Dublin

UK-based contractors will be engaged via an Umbrella company.

This is a 12-month contract with excellent day rates and the opportunity to work on a significant technology and AI transformation programme within a major banking environment.
