Job Description

The Limerick Defect/Integration team is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic engineer. The candidate must be curious, agile, and flexible, with excellent problem‑solving and data‑analysis skills. A sense of urgency and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously is also a must. This role offers learning across all fab areas and functions. The Limerick Fab is expanding its Wafer Fab by 2x and will increase output by 3x by 2026.

Layer (Module) Ownership
  • Drive defect reduction and yield improvement projects for your layers.
  • Use SPC to monitor and control inline defects throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Excursion detection, fast response and containment, and prevention.
  • Maintain and improve inspection recipes to ensure low nuisance detection and high capture rate of defects of interest.
Required Skills
  • Root Cause Analysis – Investigate complex technical challenges to identify the underlying causes of defects or yield loss; strong analytical skills; experience with Klarity Defect, SAS, JMP, and ACE; design of experiments; Python a bonus.
  • Statistical Process Control – Deep understanding of SPC fundamentals; maintain inline defect charts with correct control limits; identify and respond quickly to shifts; good understanding of statistics.
  • Process Integration and Improvement – Strong knowledge or willingness to learn about process flows; understand interactions between layers and tools; read wafer cross‑sections (FIB, SEM, TEM, EDX); SEM & FIB analysis a bonus.
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration – Work closely with process engineering, equipment engineering, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams; excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Defect Reduction/Yield Improvement – Use ACE for defect‑yield correlation; identify top pareto items; project management to drive projects to completion; scope projects and set realistic timelines; self‑starter.
