Job summary

Analog Devices, a global semiconductor leader, is recruiting a Process Engineer in Limerick to support backend fabrication engineering. You will drive process control, tool qualification, and continuous improvement across manufacturing activities, collaborating with development teams to transfer new wafer-level capabilities.

The role requires a degree in physics/electronics/materials/chemistry and 3+ years hands-on processing experience, with strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement for existing volume manufacturing processes, layers & tools.
  • Perform root cause analysis of yield issues and excursions; implement corrective actions.
  • Develop new wafer level capabilities with development groups.
  • Establish standards for equipment/process methods among shift personnel and Eng. groups.
  • Review safety, quality, output, and value metrics and drive initiatives.
  • Develop expertise on technology changes and equipment platforms.
  • Manage capital acquisition from definition to qualification for new or existing tech.
  • Ensure safe practices across toolsets.
  • Represent ADI at conferences.

Analog Devices in Limerick has two technically advanced segregated 200mm clean room areas, a mixed signal fabrication area and an area for processing of novel materials. Analog Devices Intl. are looking to recruit a Process Engineer within the Backend Fabrication Engineering group; this person will play a key role in the supporting the manufacturing processes by driving process/equipment control, toolset qualification, and continuous improvement and also working with development in developing new wafer level capabilities for our technology roadmap and transferring in new Processes from our sister sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • As a technical contributor, driving continuous improvement for existing volume manufacturing processes, layers & tools. Working with equipment and manufacturing groups to achieve this.
  • As a technical contributor working with key groups/disciplines in determining root cause analysis of yield issues, excursions, equipment downs and implementing corrective actions & robust solutions to improve the process
  • Working with the development groups and other disciplines within Analog in defining and developing new wafer level capabilities.
  • Establishing clear standards for methods of equipment and/or process work amongst shift personnel and Eng. groups – working with Equipment shift supervisors
  • Periodic review of key metrics associated with Safety, Quality, Output and Value for Money on equipment and processes for an area and driving associated initiatives
  • Developing own expertise of key technology changes/equipment platform changes and developments within an area
  • Capital acquisition inclusive of definition, tool selection, installation and qualification for new technology or existing technologies
  • Responsible for the safe practices across toolsets
  • Representing ADI at business and technical conferences.
Candidate Requirements
  • Degree in Applied Physics /Electronics/Material’s/Chemistry or relevant discipline
  • Direct experience in one or more of the following: Etch, Lithography, Deposition, Epitaxial growth, Wet Chemistry processing, Ion Implantation, Diffusion etc
  • 3+ years’ experience in a hands-on processing engineering
  • Excellent technical problem solving & multi-tasking skills
  • Good communication and interaction skills
  • Data driven and ability to apply science theory and engineering concepts
  • Self-directing, self-motivated and ability to work in a dynamic environment
