Job summary

Rockstone Engineering is seeking automation professionals to work on technically challenging DeltaV projects in Ireland's pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. The role focuses on Emerson DeltaV configuration, testing, commissioning and supporting FAT/SAT, while coordinating with process, CQV, validation and manufacturing teams.

Candidates should have hands-on DeltaV experience in GMP environments and strong communication to operate within multidisciplinary project teams. Dublin, Ireland.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DeltaV experience in GMP environments.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and modify Emerson DeltaV control systems in line with approved designs and project standards.
• Develop and maintain control modules, equipment modules, phases and batch functionality.
• Support DeltaV graphics/HMI development and system integration activities.
• Interpret P&IDs, functional specifications, control narratives and automation design documentation.
• Participate in automation design reviews and technical workshops.
• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, qualification and start-up activities.
• Troubleshoot automation and control system issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Produce and maintain relevant automation documentation.
• Work closely with process, CQV, validation, manufacturing and other engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate assigned automation activities and communicate progress, risks and technical issues effectively.
• Ensure automation solutions are delivered in accordance with GMP requirements and applicable engineering standards.

About You

• Practical hands‑on experience with Emerson DeltaV.
• Previous experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with DCS configuration, testing and commissioning.
• Good understanding of process automation and control strategies.
• Exposure to DeltaV Batch and ISA-88/S88 principles is desirable.
• Experience supporting FAT, SAT and/or commissioning activities is advantageous.
• Ability to interpret engineering and automation documentation.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

• Experience supporting pharmaceutical capital projects.
• Relevant qualification in automation, controls, electrical, chemical or a related engineering discipline.
