Job summary

Lotus Care Services is seeking a HealthCare Assistant to join our team in Athlone. The role focuses on supporting daily living activities, promoting independence, and delivering person-centred care in a community setting.

The successful candidate will hold QQI Level 5 in Healthcare, have a full Irish driving license, and demonstrate experience in social care or healthcare. HIQA standards knowledge and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Prior experience in social care or healthcare is required.
• Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
• Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
• Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
• Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
• Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
• Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.
• Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.
