Job summary

Orchard Care Group is seeking a Health Care Assistant to provide direct support and assist with daily activities in our Residential Services in Ireland. You will work as part of a dedicated team, following HIQA regulations and standards to deliver person-centred care to adults or children with complex needs.

The role requires QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification and at least 1 year of relevant experience, as well as a valid Irish driver’s licence.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Full manual driver’s licence with eligibility to drive in Ireland.
• Eligible to live and work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the child/adult’s activities and care as per the integrated Care Plan.
• Encourage recognition of the child/adult as an individual and involve families.
• Act as an advocate for the child/adult and family, providing information and support.
• Develop social interaction for individuals both individually and in a group setting.
• Be aware of safety precautions and handling of equipment.
• Participate in team meetings, staff forums, and emails.
• Provide personal care when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of the people we support.
• Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet service needs.
